2001 EZ Go stopped moving .
I am new to the site and need some help. I have a 2001 and it has been running good. Today while my wife is driving it the cart stopped. I get in and when I push the drive pedal down I hear the motor ramping up, but cart isn't moving. I put it in reverse and push down drive pedal and it wants to move a little , then stops. The entire time the motor sounds like it is running good when the pedal is depressed.
Any suggestions? Greatly appreciated. John |

Check your rear hubs to see if one of them has stripped, usually the driver's side. Jack up the driver's side rear and take the wheel off and dust cover to where you can see the castle nut. Have someone push the throttle and see if the castle nut spins. If the nut spins and your hub doesn't the hub is stripped. Pretty common problem on EZGO's. Hope that gives you somewhere to start.

Welcome to BGW!
After you expose the castle nuts on the rear axles, sit cart back on ground. Without any loading, the wheels will turn even if the hubs are stripped. |
