Default melex golf cart problem help please

My golf cart is a melex not sure of the year but the accelerator module under the seat sparks when you hit the gas. I can see on the second brass post where it is black from the spark. One of the cables was pretty rotted so I changed it but it still sparks. Can anyone help me with this? My kids want to ride and it will go, but I DONT want to put my kids on it. batteries and sparks dont mix.

Welcome, Joemama! The "Melex" (a Polish built cart) has many parts simular to Ezgo's. Later model Melex's used a Curtis (solid state controller) and a Curtis "PB6" potbox. Can you take a picture and post it, could be that Ezgo moving contacts/board and stationary contacts could get you up and going again. Good luck Dave

Dave, go back to the Yamaha section
The wiper speed control is identicle to the early ezgo carts ... You havbe got arching due to uneven, worn, and/or pitted contact studs..... these are parts any ezgo dealer can provide. Replace all of the stud contacts and the wiper contact for the best results.

No chance "Big guy"! If the contact arc'd so bad...wouldn't you change the board also? I've seen Ezgo's that the contact was "pushed" thru the melted board
