Default 2007 club car precedent wiring help

Hello everyone, new to the golf car world so forgive me for my ignorance. I have found that these things can be harder to work on than a full size car. I am tring to put tail lights and brake lights on this thing and was told that the wiring is already there. I have looked all over and still cannot find it. Any help at all would be very appreaciated.

Terry,

The wiring for the tail lights is hidden underneath the body. If you are installing the factory type lights you will need to drill a hole in the rear portion the body and fish out the wire with a coat hanger.

This is from the directions in the kit I just installed:

Measure 1.5" from the top of the bumper and 2.25" from the edge of the bag well. Mark the intersection with a center punch. Using the mark as your guide drill a hole using a 1.5" hole saw. It took me a little bit to fish out one of the wires but it was still pretty easy.

You can also get to the wires if you take off the rear body. This is also really easy, For screws underneath the seat, two screws for the f/r switch, and a few screws for the roof support. Comes right off and it is very light.

The wires that are there, are part of a factory wiring harness that already have connectors on them. They are not powered without a few more connections, not to mention the switch. The harness is intended to work with a pre-wired kit.

sounds very simple to get to the wires but after I plug into the connectors what will I need to do to make the brake lights and tail lights work? Thanks for your help.

I really can't say for sure. In order to use the wiring harness you'll have to figure out which leads from the harness found behind the ignition switch panel to hook the switch to. Plus you'll have to power up the harness buy tying into the engines electrical system. Mines not a gasser so I don't have any experience there. If you PM me your email address I can send you a copy of the instructions I used. There is a page that deals with installing on a gas unit, it may be some help.

You could always run you own wire and tie in. I guess it all depends on what type of light you plan on using.

I'm getting ready to install a OEM style light kit on my '04 Precedent and I'm confused on the location to drill the hole for the tail lights. The instructions that came with the kit say to measure over 2 1/4" from be bagwell. Another set of instructions I found (Red Hawk Downloads) say to measure over 2 1/4" from the body seam that runs down the back of the cart (about 3/4" over from the bagwell). Any recommendations?

Thanks!
James

Your kit, especially if it's a factory kit has connectors that plug into what's already there behind the dash. Have you purchased one yet? Have you removed your dash yet? Did your kit have directions? It's really very easy

Hello I Just Installed A Tail Light Kit Tonight, Once I Drilled Into The Body, I Took A Coat Hanger With A Hook On One End , And Fished It Thru The Hole Towards The Front Of The Cart And Was Able To Pull The Wiring Connection Back Towards Me

Hope This Helps
