Talking 2001 Club Car electric to a 150cc ATV Motor.....Any Advice?

I have recently obtained a 2001 Club Car that is electric, It needs batteries and tires. I just happen to have an extra 150cc ATV with forward and reverse. I am looking for another project and can always use another toy to take to the mud bogs, So I am gonna customize the cart. Any information would be great. I know this is probably not feasable and will be a lot of work, but I am the kind of guy that enjoys a challenge!

The motor is too small
If you are the kind of guy who likes to spend countless hours and money modifying something just to see if it will work, then go ahead with the project.
Personally I would want about 5-600 more cc's especially when mud is involved.

My advise is this is a bad idea, sell it as is while it is still worth something

And Welcome to BGW!

WELL, I looked up the HP on the 150 and it was 10, that is what the new gas carts are coming stock with, so it is a little small, not looking to build a mud buggy, just something different to drive around and throw beads to the on-lookers....I will wait awhile and ponder the idea before I get involved, but as you suspected, I am the type that likes to do things just to do them!

Sorry this intended use statement threw me ..... I think a 10ph cart was designed for slick 18" tires, 2 people, and a bag of sticks around a manicured path... I use a 720cc 25hp motor in my mud worthy cart. That's was just my opinion... Mud takes lots of power and the right kind of big tires = lots more than 10 hp needed.
The main thing is you have fun with the build and that it suits the intended use when completed. I just thought it would fall short with that power plant.

More power.
End of story.

If ya can't spin 'em clear, weld on a good anchor point and keep your pull rope hooked up.

23" V bar tires & 9 HP max out with about 6" of pudding mud.
Up the threat to peanut butter mud or butter mud and you're toast.

Just got back from Mudfest.

As of now the only running golf cart I have is an old EZ-go that had been souped up with a snowmobile engine(504cc twin 2-stroke) and was a death trap(76 m.p.h.). I did an engine swap to a 6.5 hp honda clone 4 stroke motor that I had and a simple centrifugal clutch($45) to use around the property. It works great with larger lawn mower tires on the back. It will haul 2 or 3 people around the trails(even uphill) with a top speed of about 35 but hauling a loaded trailer heats up the clutch a bit too much for comfort.

Whatever you decide, have fun with the project.
