Default 3 wheeled EZ-GO lift help

I'd like to put a mild lift on a 1987 ez-go three wheeler I just bought, maybe 3 inches. The rear looks easy, some blocks should work there. The front is where I have questions. I've seen a few threads of older ones with what looks like a home made bracket. This one though, it looks as if longer shocks might do it up front without the need for a bracket. Does anyone have any ideas?

Just Shootin from the hip here, as I don't have access to one of these carts (all hail Google Images).... A taller tire and longer shocks would get you part of the way there. Also, fabbing a new swing arm with the front axle hole located lower in relation to the pivot point and shock wouldn't be too hard.

Here are some pics of my front end I had to put 2" spacers in the springs cause I moved the axle forward
I have since welded and four wheel front on on the cart and did away with the three Wheeler

I saw the pictures you posted but your front end is a bit different than mine. I'll post a pic here. Mine doesn't have that hoop that goes around the back like yours does. It just pivots at the fork that's why I think a longer shock would do the trick, just not sure what to try and replace it with. I see the spacers you made now. Maybe that's the way to go.

Hey RDMoto, what is the center-to-center measurement of your shocks when the weight of the cart is on the front end?
(I'm assuming this would be approx in the middle of the range)
My brother deals in vintage motorcycle parts.
He might have some ideas.

Compmikey, the measurement from center of bolt at the top to center of bolt at the bottom with the weight of the cart on them is 10-1/4". An old motorcycle shock that's about three inches longer might do the trick. I plan on putting 3" blocks out back. Let me know if he has anything and I could buy them from him. Thanks for checking for me!

RD, It looks like a 70s-80s era medium-large street bike rear shock might work, provided bolt diameters are close. Say, around 13-1/2 inch range.
Verify for me, but it looks like what you need are "eye to eye" style as opposed to an eye at the top and a clevis at the bottom.

Just a follow up -
Re" eye-to-eye style, Brother Joe tells me that Z1 900 kz900 and kz1000 all had 13.5 inch shocks. These are 70s & 80s bikes that are probably parted out on eBay a lot.

Oh yeah, those are the old Kawasaki cop bikes I believe. I'll look them up. I think some guys tear them down and make café racers out of them or drag bikes.
