Folks,

Synthetic lubricants are not oil at all; they are a man made lubricant. This is why the lubricant does not break down like conventional oils will and this is why the lubricant has a longer in-service life.

I have built many engines during my long tenure in the automotive and heavy duty field. Not once did I experience an issue using a synthetic lubricant on a new engine or one that has been in service for some time.

Brand new Ford engines use a synthetic blend and the LT1, LS1, LS6, and the new LS7 use Mobile 1 ONLY! since installed at the factory.

Don't get caught up in the sythetic hype. Yes it's a superior lubricant due to it's ability to resist breakdown and shear, but it's not a miracle or super lubricant.

Hope this helps...

not only ford, but BMW, Mercedes, and Dodge also use synthetic from teh factory.

My LS1 in my WS6 gets Royal Purple oil.

syn has changed majorily over the last 10 years, so use it from the start if you want 2, no problems.
