Where to find 1-3/4" flexible plastic intake hose?
Anyone know where I can find some 1-3/4" I.D. flexible plastic hose to use on my air intake? I'm looking for the "bellows type", kind of what came stock on the old Marathon carbs. I don't want to purchase from some obscure place. Ebay would be ideal, but I can't find it. Thanks for the help! I need the bellows type so it won't collapse with the draw of the supercharger.

You may also use flexible radiator hose. That is what I have for my air filter set up and works good. I was using some marine exhaust hose it is very stiff and would come off on rough terrain.

Possibly Central-Vac or Heavy Duty shop vac. hose too,it has a heavy vinyl casing, with heavy wire wound thru it.

Re: Where to find 1-3/4" flexible plastic intake hose?
Gokart guys use the intake (usually lower) radiator hose it has a heavy wire wound inside it. I used some without the wire on my airbox along with pvc fittings and a hose off a car airbox, but none of those have negative pressures.
There is some aircraft hose that is wire wound inside and rubber I know a place here that makes it, some is stiff though. McMasters has some specialty hoses. The soft wire wound hose will still try to pull itself to smaller length under vacuum, I have a shop vac that does that it will pull the vacuum right to me. But vacuum hose might be a good bet if you find the right size. |
