48v - 12v reducers? and Broken wire?
Ok, I'm convinced I need to "undue" the shop's 16V wiring of the lights.
Is there an advantage to CC reducer over some other brand? There's also a red 10 gauge wire that is attached to the positive terminal on one end, and a broken black 10g wire that appears to be lined up with the negative terminal on the other end coming out of the harness wrap. Any suggestions what this wire is for... and why everything seems to work with out the ground(?) wire attached? Final electrical question {for now}, any favorite 12v power point suggestions? |

Hmm.... 16 volts to the lights. Are the lights directly fed from 2 batteries in the pack assuming you have 8 volt batteries? That may how they are grounded. From your wiring description they may have been a reducer used on your cart in the past.

there is a voltmeter of sorts that I installed using the IP wiring, but that broken wire has been there since I got it, and the equivalent positive wire is connected to the battery pack. I suspect it's driving something, computer, I don't know??? and it's set up a floating ground situation. |

Re: 48v - 12v reducers? and Broken wire?
Club Cars have a 10ga black wire that comes OFF the Controller B- and terminates with a yellow female bullet connector in the battery bay area.
You are supposed to use that negative wire so the OBC can measure any current being used by accessories and take that in consideration during charge. Depending how the shop tapped your pack for 16v, they may be using a different battery reference for negative. That will cause problems unless they used their own dedicated wires for all of the accessories. |

Then what is the red 10ga wire for? Where should the accessories be tapped into? |

The red 10 Ga wire should go from the Charger port to the positive terminal on the #1 battery. This is used for the charging circuit.
