I think it was one of these went through a local auction. They "no sale" the item with a $2500 bid.

Tractor Supply does carry the cheapest gasoline version, it sells for $3999.

My brother has one of the electric ones. He paid about $4900 in 2008. It is a pretty awsome machine, but has lots of rattles (we use it for hunting). He put 25" tires on that thing and it will go trough anything you have the balls to run an electric vehicle through. If they had released the street legal before I purchased my STAR, I would have bought it in a heartbeat. Lots of suspension travel and ground clearance and a well made simple design.
