Default OK to charge batteries with cart cover on?

Cart is covered & stored outside in South Jersey and won't be used for at least another 6 - 8 weeks. Planning on charging it this week, and concerned about the gases emitted while charging. The cover's zipper is on the driver's side, midway between front & back of cart, and when unzipped the cover can be draped open wide enough to climb in. Would that be sufficient enough ventilation to safely charge the batteries? Thank you in advance!

I regularly charge mine under a storage cover. No issues
