Ok, crazy as this seems…
I had circled washer on wrong side (had it against engine under the bar). Didn’t really think it’d make a difference, but I’m running out of options. Put it in proper place and it helped…quite a bit actually. I also have bigger washers in wrong place on passenger side, BUT I do have smaller washers where the big ones should be. Will swap them out tomorrow or this weekend. Who would’ve thought…lol Thank you!! |

BUT…there is one more variable that could account for the improvement. When reinstalling engine, I just so happened to tighten passenger side mount nuts first. Yesterday I loosened those two so I could tighten the crap out of drivers side without the other side pulling against it.

Don't be afraid to add additional washers / shims to any of those mounts if need be. Doing so is very normal on these old engines and can help tighten things up.
