From my understanding you shouldn't get much over 20 but there's a lot more pep getting there. Is it peppy???

I haven't made any adjustments to the controller so it's how ever d and d motors set it .. is there something I could change .. and do I have to disconnect the controller before hooking it to the computer

Download the Alltrax software (its free) and hook up a printer cable. No need to disconnect controller, but I put mine in tow just to be on the safe side. Take a screen shot of the settings. I bet the RPM limit is very low for some strange reason. Or the motor amps are very low. D and D should have provided the max motor rpm, set the speed limit 50-100 rpm less than that and crank up the motor amps to see what happens

You don't need to unplug anything or put in tow to connect the USB cable to the controller. Once you connect, check and see what Field Map you have installed. On the controller page I think it should show DM430 (correct me, ScottyB, if I am wrong on this). The first thing is to make sure you have correct Field Map installed. You can email Alltrax tech and Will or Ron will send you the correct field map for your stock motor. Follow instructions in the Alltrax Toolkit to install it.

Yamaha had a tech bulletin about some motors that wouldn't do the expected speed. Their fix was a smaller brush set. That set has proven to be totally incompatible with bigger controllers. SOL.
