Default Wrap or paint

As all the parts come in to get out Pecedent up and running, time to start looking at cosmetic items.

Picked up a black dash for a stereo.

Next is to get rid of the factory beige body.

Anyone vinyl wrap cart that would recommend staying away for that process?

Any hints or recommendations on the DYI process?

I painted mine, under harsh conditions and it still came out good IMO, I did it with Duplicolor, used an adhesive primer first.

Just click on the Red Roadster build in my sig. to see it. I might use a partial wrap or add stripes etc later.

Would be different for sure, usually the wraps are as expensive as a replacement body.

That looks neat. Browsed sellers other items and had in multiple colors too. Biggest thing would be determining what size you need for front and back.

FWIW, I used their product on a 95 medalist last summer, it took a 5’ x 10’ had a little left over, cost @ 100.00 shipped. I am going to do another one this winter, with different color and finish. As with everything, prep work is key, didn’t hide as much as I had hoped but still happy with product, I threw some decals on it to hide some of the imperfections. Used 3M 1080, pretty easy to work with.

so a 5ft x 10ft sheet will allow me to cover a club car with one sheet vs. not having to worry about seams?

I am not 100% sure for your Club Car. Maybe someone else will chime in. I would get some solid measurements on the body parts you want to wrap, and then check their website; you will see there are varying widths on the rolls, depending on the material you want. Another thing I did was order samples of what you think you may like ( the samples cost a buck or so), and get the product in hand, as some were different from what I thought they would look like especially with the carbon fiber or any of the textured ones. They were different in hand vs. what I saw on the screen.

Think we are going to paint it this time. Been reading up:

Clean the heck out of the body.
Fix any scratches
Scotchbrite the body parts
Use a primer bonder
Then primer coats
Then your paint coats
Then clear coats.
A lot of steps, but think it will be a good activity.
