Default Elite dash radio static

I recently installed the elite dash in my 2009 precent club car. Very happy with the dash and the install. I am using a motorcycle radio splash cover to protect against moisture.
The only compliant I have is that I am getting just enough static in the radio to make listening to the radio annoying. Also I seem to be getting static when I turn the headlights on.
Does anyone have any suggestions to eliminate the static. I am wondering if the design of the dash has the ignition switch to close to the radio.
Thanks

The only way I've ever seen to correct it is to run the radio off of a separate battery that's not tied into the vehicle itself. You're picking up interference from the motor controller. Usually it only happens on AM/FM. CD and MP3 playback is usually crystal clear.

Isolate the radio power source. Use a diode in the hot wire and put a cap across from pos to neg wire. This sometimes works.

Thanks for the replies
mrgolf can you please put your response in layman's terns. I do not know what you mean to " use a diode in the hot wire and put a cap across from the negative to the positive"
Where would I purchase a diode?

I don't have the ability to draw with my ipad. You can get a diode from r/s as well as a cap. A diode will only let dc electric go one way. Like a one way valve. That will isolate the radio from back feed. The cap connects from the pos to the neg wire close to the radio, it will bleed off static. Also you can put a cap filter on the ant pos connection. To bleed off static picked up from the air.

I would bet that CTD could post a lay out of this.
