Default 10 inch or 12 inch wheels for hunting buggy?

I'm in the process of building a hunting buggy for next season. I'm stumped on the wheel selection now. I really like the look of the 12 inch wheels but will the ride offroad suffer? It will be used 80% of its life offroad, nothing crazy just trails and dirt roads out at the hunting lease. How do the 10 inch wheels ride compaired to the 12 inch? I'm planning on going with a 22x11-X if it helps. I'm 325lbs and I'm worried if I go up to a 23inch that I might loose some run time due to my weight etc but looking at the tire size inconsistancies it might be a mute point.

I've already got a kit ordered through Scottyb, just waiting to make my mind up on the wheels and tires. I'm planning on installing the AllSports 6in SS a-arm lift.

Thanks for your help.

Well the short version is, the smaller the wheel, the more sidewall you have. A larger sidewall may give you a little smoother ride off road but it can also make it a little squirrelly because of sidewall flex. As you are a bigger person, I would go with the 12 inch wheels.. And they look cooler :)

I prefer the look of 12 inch wheels, but have run 10's on a bunch of carts as well. The tire you choose may dictate the wheel size you go with. For instance, I like the ITP Mud Lite tire, but in a 22 inch tire it's only available for a 10" wheel. You can't go wrong either way.

Thanks for the replies guys. You told me exactly what I wanted to hear! My Scottyb parts got here today but it will be next week before I can get to it. I've got one more weekend in the woods for the season.
