Default XCT300 on IQ, stuttering during regen and not faster than stock

I just installed the XCT300 on my 2005 DS IQ. I'm not really seeing a speed increase (maybe a barely noticeable increase) and the cart stutters when you lift off the throttle and the regen braking is much stronger than it was before.

I'll plug in the software but it's my first time and not sure what to look for.

Any ideas?

Where did you get the controller? It’s very important that it’s programmed for your throttle and the correct motor field map is installed. You could burn up the motor very quickly.

You have two setting in the software for Regen. The first one is "Max Regen Armature Amps" It is used for peddle up braking. Adjust it to your liking. The next is "Max Regen Battery Amps" It is used for rollaway braking. I prefer no regen armature braking so I set it to zero. I keep the rollaway braking so I set it to 40 amps. Try setting them to your liking. Both of these are under the "Controller Settings" tab in the software.

I got it from Dave at Revolution, so I assume the field map is correct.

Yes, it would be if you got it from David. Double check the diodes on solenoid that they are correct.

Post a picture of the solenoid if u can (if u changed it).

I definitely hooked up the diode that came with the controller correctly, I was paranoid and triple checked before I installed it. I didn't change any other wiring on the solenoid. I can't get a pic right now because the rear seat is back on but I'll try and get one later.

If you didn't replace it then it has not changed. Just strange for it to be bucking that badly.

You can find an accurate description of "Max Regen Battery Amps" on page 14 of the Toolkit Manual.

Uncheck the speed limit box and SET or save changes.
If this increases speed there is a problem with the speed sensor
What yr cart do you have and what motor map is installed in the controller?

Once you download the software and get it connected to the Controller, just post a picture of the settings screen so we can see it.

There are a lot of those settings that interact with one another and we can make recommendations once we see exactly what you have.

You should definetely notice more performance, even with the stock GE gray motor.
