If you have individual battery cell caps count how many there are on a battery. If you have a uni-cap remove it and count how many holes are in a battery. One hole per cell. 1 cell = 2 volts. 3 holes is a 6v. 4 holes is an 8v. They made both that year. multiply the # of volts in a battery Xs the number of batteries? Now ....... you tell us. How many volts is your cart?

the number [ E4800 ] you posted is for an EXIDE 8volt
so I would say your cart is 48volt

Only the IQ carts had speed programable controllers. they had Toggle switch F&R instead of Levers and a Run/Tow switch under the seat..... do you have these things?

If you have 8 batteries that would be a 64 volt system, so that would indicate someone else has already tried to make some performance upgrades.

I think he meant 6

The programmable IQ carts had a run/tow switch under the seat front and center. It was mounted on a little metal tab with a big orange warning label on it.... also the serial # for all programmable IQ carts started with IQ(036994321) ...... My guess is I doubt you have a programmable controller...... If you do there will be a small round computer plug in port on the underside of the little box which houses the F&R toggle switch.
