Re: Yamaha/club car on air
Actually, it's a G8. Air ride in the back would be cake...on the front, I'd like to see how you do that.

Re: Yamaha/club car on air
Just got it loaded up to go to the cottage!! Made my own temporary"shocks" out of electrical conduit just to get a set ride height where I can roll around. You can hardly see it over the bedside cause it's so low😂😂

Re: Yamaha/club car on air
Finally another update!!! This is a good one!!! So this summer I had this one buddy who had an old 1979 club car caroche which he wanted to turn into a prop, so he told me I could take whatever I wanted out of it (free!!) as long as it looked stock from the outside. I grabbed the five solenoid setup with all the pedal wiring, f/r switch and everything I need besides batteries. I retrofitted it all into my frame and I jumpered the battery pack from my other golf cart to see if it all works, and it does! All five solenoids engage all five speeds perfectly! Now I’m on the hunt for batteries slightly used for cheap and I’ll be driving it as a bare frame!!

Re: Yamaha/club car on air
Just a little update on some pics
I got the batteries out of my cottage cart that's been stored at my cottage so I brought the batteries home to maintain them over the winter and thought why not put them in my Lowrider build? Everything is all hooked up and the other day I took it for its first ever test drive riding low!! Currently I have just a regular switch for ignition until I get a key switch, I've custom fabbed a pedal linkage outta clothes hanger I'd say it's a very successful organ transplant |

Re: Yamaha/club car on air
Found the perfect spot for an accessory battery to fit. It will be running my compressor, radio/amp/sub, headlights, taillights and fog lights. Thought I'd show a few pics of the cart in general as well. Also I threw the 2+5 offset rims on the front, I'm kinda liking how they push the top of the wheel out to stock width, but the bottoms are sticking out past the skirts!!

Re: Yamaha/club car on air
Looks awesome how did it ride, was it bouncy or bone jarring, the first test run that I took with mine was bone jarring rattled my teeth together, but I also had
35 lb in those little bitty 8 inch tires, after I bagged about 30 lb of air out of the tires,it road pretty good, I am wondering though even with bags, I think the ride is still going rough.... What do you think? |

Re: Yamaha/club car on air
Not much progress on this build, it's been a slow winter but I did stack some washers on my steering box to lower the steering column down because it was too high. the man that drives the white truck should be bringing my air shocks tomorrow hopefully along with my compressor/air tank so look forward to those.
