Default need help with a g8 gas

hello, everyone new to this site its awsome i have a 92 g8 gas cart in my opinion it does'nt have enough power but i'm compairing it to a 99 g14 gas i know it has a larger engine mine will backfire through the carb unless the choke is pulled if i take the breather tube off it backfires untill it warms up then you don't have to keep the choke pulled but it does'nt wind up like it should even using the butterfly to rev it up i have put new rings and rod bearings crank bearings and seals and all gaskets carb has been cleaned when i had it tore down the valves had grooves wore in them would that be the cause of it and i did'nt know it had a fuel filter until reading some posts any help would be great thanks

Sounds like a leaky air box, or maybe a broken carb spacer. Make sure your seal on the top of the airbox is good, filter in good shape, all four bungees are there, hose connections tight and that your carb spacer isn't cracked. And check the valve adjustments!
