Default Yamaha g1 clutch issue

Good evening I have replaced the primary clutch with a new full assembly from e Bay. And now when we try accelerating it will take a second then jerk you back in seat and go, we have to almost feather the throttle so we don't get whiplash, when I put the old one back on it operates normal, just wondering if the new clutch assembly is wrong or just needs broke in.

Clutches should not need broken in, a new clutch definitely should NOT be performing like that. If that's an ebay clutch, that might be the problem. The cheap chinese copies are usually not very good parts and often don't work correctly. If you put the old clutch back on and it works, I'd leave it there. Why did you replace the clutch if it worked? Just curious.

Agreed also see if the clutch is the same dimensions at the bottem , if wider the engine can get a run at the belt and lurch. we snowmobilers spend hours getting the dimensions exact.
