Default 89 EZ-GO blows gas out of the carburetor overflow tube

Hello, got this 89 EZ-GO with the 3 PG engine,it blows the gas out of the carburetor's overflow tube, supposedly the engine had new top end, took it apart and found bent Piston ring, installed new Piston and rings, gasket and oil seals, the engine stills squirts gas out of the overflow tube, even with a brand new carburetor, I think the Reed valve may be bad, does anyone have that problem before?

Does it run at all? Did you put the piston in the right direction?

Yes, it runs, is been spitting gas out of the overflow tube before a replaced the bad piston and rings, but it didn't run before that, it was trying to start only and spitting out gas

Well, it turns out that the fuel pump has a ruptured diaphragm, pressure from the crankcase was forcing the gas out thru the overflow tube on the carburetor
