Default Jakes front disc brakes installed

I got my disc brake system installed it took me about 7 hours. I am meticulous about cleaning, checking things. The bleeding, adjusting, and alignment took most of that time. The hardware install went fast. The instructions need to be clarified there is a lot of info left out. You definitely need to know a bit about braking systems to install this kit. I also checked the Jakes website read the instructions for other kits, I also watched a couple of videos before I installed them.
For the bleeding the system I used a mighty vac at first I got all the big air bubbles out then I kept getting intermittent bubbles so I used a trick I was taught years ago, put grease around the bleeder so no air could be sucked in. It worked fantastic. I bled each caliper 3 time just to check.
The testing was fun, I drove in my garage at full tilt hit the brakes and left 4 skid marks about a foot long. I did that once before the front brake install and it was about a 3 foot long 2 wheel skid. My floor in the garage is very smooth. I Let me say this thing stops on a dime. I am super impressed by the kits stopping power. I would recommend to anyone.

Nice! I am going to buy these once I get my larger wheels / low profile tires for my Yamaha. The discs won't fit with the wheels I currently have.

I just put a long travel kit on my cart and now have the brakes to install. How's your turning radius with the brakes? My LT kit said to use stock spindles and with the LT kit, it's not a good radius to turn in. Now I have the Jakes spindles to use for my brake kit. Was it pretty easy to dial in your bias? Front to back braking

I'm azz backwards. I installed the Jakes brakes about 7 years ago and this spring I'm likely going to go with the long travel. BTW, the front "shield" on the caliper I had made because my cart is for hunting and I drive thru a lot of weeds, brush etc..

BTW, your brake install is done very well!! Nice job....congrats!

Is their any disk brakes that work with stock spindles?
It sure seems like their would be a market for them

The turning radius didn't change for me. I just have a 6 inch lift. The front to back braking was pretty easy, just adjust the rear brakes to stock pedal and align the front brake master cylinder bracket and the proportion was perfect.

Jakes makes kits for stock carts, the spindles will be replaced with ones that have the caliper mount welded to it. Make sure you check your rim is the right size and style.
Check out their website.

I am a one to support the site sponsors but I found the best deal from Everything carts 15% off and free shipping and it was shipped same day and fast. You might want to take advantage of this.
