motor problem refurbished 98 DS
Have a 48 volt 98 DS . Not sure what is going on here. It has a back seat. It runs very slow , even with only one person on it.
The cart badge says : RE98. It has a vglide wiper, it has a silver controller, the motor has a 3 wire harness hanging off the end, and doesn't plug into anything??? There is no place to plug that 3 wire sensor ( I think ) into. What can I do to get this cart to go 20 mph? |

Re: motor problem refurbished 98 DS
To me it sounds like someone put a sepex motor in a series system.

Re: motor problem refurbished 98 DS
Can you explain what affect that would render to this cart?
Cart runs fine, just slow, about 11 mph tops. What is quickest way to get this to 20 mph? And the easiest. |

Re: motor problem refurbished 98 DS
The motor needs to be replaced with a series motor.
Call Plum Quick and see if they will take your sepex core for a series Bandit. I don't see why not |

Re: motor problem refurbished 98 DS
So, if in fact the wrong motor is on this cart, and I install a different motor, then the new motor won't have this 3 wire connector hanging out the end of it?

Re: motor problem refurbished 98 DS
Hang on fellas - a Sepex motor wouldn't even turn with a series controller I suspect (especially not 11 mph). First you will need to research the model/type number from the controller to see what you have exactly; then go from there.

Re: motor problem refurbished 98 DS
What is the full serial number of the cart? Post a picture of the motor and controller. You have a lever style F/R right?3
I still think you have the wrong motor. Where did you get the 11mph estimate from? |

Joesam good job get the real info before vomiting help, although that was my first impression also; wrong motor. and yes a sepex motor would turn with a series controller! and before anyone starts fighting I said turn, not run correctly.

Re: motor problem refurbished 98 DS
Yeah - I sorta knew it would turn - but it would be incredibly anemic if I understand the different technologies correctly. You never know though - since I've never seen it done, I can't say for sure.
