Re: My Workhorse
Ok, this is fun already! Correct me if I'm wrong (useually am), Doesnt a 20 hp cam fit in a 18 and make better power (or was it a stock 23 in an 16/1? How close is the 18 manifold to a 20? Rev kit/advanced timing key/cam/a Mikuni carb set up...engine solid (I happen to know a dude that has a 20 hp stock cam and a single Mikuni set up) Like Ess asked, what primary and seconday you running?

Re: My Workhorse
Primary and secondary?????????? I have no idea, I do know the primary makes a whine noise when it closes back at idle. The experence I have with clutches is minimal, the snowmobile cart and the diesel cart I just installed what I had laying around and they worked,,,,imagine that...I would like it to run better but it don't need to wheelie. I've rebuilt and tried 2 carbs so far with no change in power. I'll get the numbers off the engine to make sure exactly what it is then some of you Briggs experts can guide me in the correct duh-rection cause it dont have enough cylinders for me to tweak it on my own. If it is an 18 and the cams from a 20/24? will work I'll start looking and also let me know who has the carb/intake setup I might be interested if they will fit maybe that will quiet the intake noise. Thanks for the helpful input.

Re: My Workhorse
I can't find any numbers actually stamped on the block, how can you tell what HP this engine really is?

Re: My Workhorse
Nice cart! I can think of 100 things I could use it for. One of these days I'm going to have to get one to actually work with instead of just play with.

Re: My Workhorse
Jeff, in picture #1-below the fuel pump, I see what looks like an identifcation tag on the fan shroud ,could be the model/serial numbers your looking for. Now I can see why you hear air sucking...that K & N is humungas I want to say the clutch is a Comet 780....Is that right guy's? Nice talking to you yesterday!

Re: My Workhorse
Just talked to Tom at Carts Parts Plus, the man is a wealth of knowledge and help, he told me what clutches I have and pointed out other things that would improve performance, I will be buying the Rev Kit and a cam from him. Thank you much Tom!!
