Battery Terminal Melted?
I found a loose battery cable connection a little too late. The terminal has melted somewhat and now has a very rough surface. I bought a new cable, since the cable was also damaged. Do I need a new battery? Or can I still use the battery with a rough terminal?

Re: Battery Terminal Melted?
Meyer I had the same issue some time back. I just cleaned it up with a file and it lasted a couple of years. Yes pic would help. Steve

Re: Battery Terminal Melted?
I had one completely melt off last summer. My son was out riding it and his friends dad ran a screw down thru the cable end and into what was left of the terminal. Cart ran for the rest of the summer but the batteries gave up not long after that. I have no idea if it was related or not as my batteries were getting a bit long in the tooth anyway. Let it sit all winter and installed new batteries a couple of months ago. Now I check the cables everytime I check the water, which is probably more often than I need to.

Re: Battery Terminal Melted?
Here's a pic. I didn't take the cable off for the pic. With the cable removed, I would estimate about 1/3 of the terminal has been damaged.

Re: Battery Terminal Melted?
Dang. If it were my cart I'd replace it. You might be able to get away with taking the cable off and hitting it with the wire brush. Replace the cable. Make sure you can tighten the terminal lug good

Re: Battery Terminal Melted?
Looks to me to be useable. Carefully remove the old cable and clean the terminal to bright metal and use a new cable. If all else fails, " Crashes " method will fix you up!
