Charger/Charging Port Issue
Ok guys, I have an issue with an older 36volt Club Car DS. The Charger is a 36V Accu Power with a visible fuse on the front of the charger just below the amp gauge. I put new batteries in the cart, and replaced the blown fuse on the charger. As soon as I plugged the charger in it zapped the fuse. I feel confident its something in the charging port, (the spark emitted from that port was the confirmation).. I have read some things about reverse polarity in the charging port itself. #1 could that be accurate, #2 What causes this, and #3 How do I correct it if the consensus directs me to this.
So in short, what are some of the things that I can do to trouble shoot same to find the diagnoses? Thanks Guys!! |

Re: Charger/Charging Port Issue
Make sure all of the batteries are wired correctly and the charger port is wired correctly

Re: Charger/Charging Port Issue
If your charger has the heat sink diodes its a sure sign one of them is bad.

Re: Charger/Charging Port Issue
Thanks I have this one, but the numbers in detail "A" don't match the larger diagram.
Is this it? 41 to 41 20 to key 21 to neg. #6 22 to pos. #1 11 to f/r switch I hope |

Re: Charger/Charging Port Issue
Thank You CC,
Think I got it: 41 to 41 Charger to fuse 22 to F/r switch 21 to pos # 6 20 to key 11 to speed switch Down to the last few strokes on this thing, it belonged to my Dad and he used it everyday, it sat for a few years after he pasted and I decided to restore it in his honor. Its looking pretty good. I'll post some pics soon I hope. Thank you for your help!! |
