Default kinda confuzed

im putting in a 16 briggs vtwin in a 97 cc carryall,,, i need a drive clutch for it.. for now im going to use the existing rear (cw) axle..

question is,, does the cw motors take a different clutch then ccw... if so can you use the cw clutch on teh ccw briggs,

what ALL drive clutches CAN be used on this engine,,,, thanks

From evverything i've read in the past it does matter. CPP has a clutch rated to 7000 rpm that is adj. for power or speed i beleive. Hope this helps.

You can spin drive clutches either direction.
Driven is anougther story, some you can, some you can't.

Although a drive clutch can be run in either direction. In the case of a Club Car drive clutch you need to move the springs under the plastic slides to the otherside.(simple 5 min job) As far as the driven clutch the spring and preload direction will need to be changed to work with the CCW running engine.

thanks for the responses...

jus out of curiousity,,, would the comet 40 series work if you got the drive and driven,,, its set up for 7/8 belt and rated for up to 18hp,,, just wondering,,,,
