Default Six Bucks and some Box Wine aka: 97 Club Car

Got this one today for 450 delivered. Its a 48 volt sparker.

Has not run in 3 years.... But the electronics are good. The batteries are Trojan t875 they did not look that bad. All of them were low on water, so I top them off and could not get the charger to come on.

My buddy has a 48 volt cart so he came by with his charger and we tried it still the charger would not come on. We disconnected his pack from his cart and used car jumper cables from his good pack to my pack. Plugged in my charge and the charger sprung to life. After taking the jumper cables off my charge was still going strong. They charged for about 2hrs and then the charger shut off. Keeping my fingers crossed, I jump in the cart turned the key and thru the FnR into reverse. The back up buzzer sounded loud and my smile grew, as I step on the gas she started to move on her own power. I made it to the end of my drive way, then switched to forward. Again she started to move then in another 20ft she quit.

I plugged the charger back in and this time it sprung back on with the needle all the way pointing to the right

Its been about 10 hrs now and the needle has moved halfway down the scale. My fingers are still crossed hoping I can bring the batteries back to a useable life

More pictures to come and maybe some "one off mods" too

Being that the pack voltage is so low you will have to charge each individual battery up so that the charger will start charging the pack voltage
First off you have to let the charger charge till,it shuts off on its own
Maybe 12 hrs or more then wait another 12 hrs before measuring the batt. Pack voltage to see what condition you batt . Pack is in
good luck
Cheers !

Where are you finding these deals? Nice work! A cart like that up here in the North East is $1500 all day long.

Pretty much anything under $1000 is not running & the body is hammered. Not many bargains up here, something clean is $1500 & up without a back seat. Gas is even higher, expect about $2000 for gas.

Update..... The batteries have come up to 50.2 volts at rest after a full charge that included once around the block, that is about 1/2 mile and one very steep hill.

Not great but somewhere between 80-90% after 3 years of total neglect. I wonder if they will come up any more with a couple more cycles of a short run then back on the charger?

*tip/trick* Brasso works wonders on plastic stock bodies such as baby poop brown like mine

More pics to follow.... Some of the mods from the Red Cart (the one in my sig) are going to make it over to this cart and the red cart will be sold to its next victim...

Not exactly.... I jumped my batteries with another 48 volt cart then plugged in my charger and it started to charge my pack after we took off the jumper cables...
