Default solenoid testing

how can i test my solenoid? do i have to take wire off 1 battery to test or test w/all connected?

With the cart on blocks for safety reasons.......With a voltmeter you can verify that the there is Neg to 1 small post and POS to the 2nd small post when you put the cart in gear and push the gas..With the key on and in gear, this should have activated the solenoid and the rear wheel... You should have heard a click when it did activate...... If it didn't you can field test it with a jumper cable from 1 large terminal to the other...if the cart runs like this, the solenoid is bad. Replace it.
