Default 6x6V series or 2x3x12V Series/parallel

Here is my question. Working on a budget and cart has one NEW 12v and two old 12v batteries. Rather than dropping $600 on six new 6volt ds/m batteries, can I get two new 12volt DS/M now, and then put 3 more in later on in series-parallel? I assume I would get more current from the six 12's pushing 36volts than six 6's in series with the same 36v. What are the pro's and cons from those of you who have been doing this alot longer than I have?

I would do a search on the topic. This type of stuff always leads to arguments.
The right way to do it is 6 6volts.

There is tons of info already on the site that will help you make your decision.

Good luck

If you are on a budget then definity go with the 6 volt batteries. THe 12v are not made for this type of cycling. They will cost you more in the long run.
Like 'S' says do some research here .....

Dangit, looks like the wife is gonna get mad at me then. $600 is going to magically disappear from my account. I always ask for forgiveness rather than permission
