Default Intake question....

I am in the process of repowering this ancient asphalt roller. I have found a reasonably priced engine that almost fits perfect. The almost part is the air cleaner assembly. It conflicts with the framework of the roller. In the pics I have removed the airbox and scavenged the inner flange back onto the carb to make the engine runable. What I need is some sort of aftermarket intake that fits those two carb studs. Maybe one of those cold air intakes with the cone filter. Any ideas?

I'm gonna just throw this out there...

Measure the studs center to center, and the carb intake opening,

I have the B&S intake on my cart, (and an extra that I never used on a friends cart)
you could either point it up or down, IF... it'll fit!

The B&S stud C/C is 1-13/16ths" and the opening is 1-3/16"

That looks promising, Don. What fits on the elbow then?

Well, after the final fitment and test of the engine it's not as bad as we thought. All I had to do was cut off the left side of the original airbox assembly by about 1/2" and everything is nicey-nicey. Except for the wire tie that now holds that side of the airbox together, but that's what the boss wanted, and that's what we did. Thanx Don.

That will work!

The end of the elbow would either accept the cone filter, or air tube to a remote air box!
