1984 Marathon gas just purchased from neighbor for use on the farm. Already into it as it has sat for some years. Started right up but backfires til it's warm. I didn't mean to presume the number. You tell me what my number is.

I have a 91 Marathon which I converted to 48v. I have installed a Curtis-1206 5201 controller, an ITS and a 5hp Advance motor. Also I have swapped the differential carrier from an RXV into the rear, converting it to a limited slip differential rear end. as well I added a 2" lift.

I also have a 93 Marathon I lifted with a custom build frame and added a full set of leaf springs in the front. it has stock motor and controller. this was some year ago and my son uses it as a daily ride.

I guess crayon me onto the list. I pick up the 94 Marathon 36v cart I bought from a friend this weekend. I worked on it in the past for him, and ended up buying it. Cart is kind of rough - served as his sons learning curve into motor vehicles. It does have 6 new 6v Duracells and sits on about a 4" lift kit and some mudder tires. Probably just make it into a reasonable looking cart to get me around at local events.

you guys have any marathon big block build threads?
i desiding to replace the pre mci 295 with a ct rebuilds 375 (350 with 295 head) or go vc 460 or hf 420.
goals:
must be reliable. kids wife drive it to pool/babysitting jobs
got to be quiet. the proximity of cart path to naibors house is close at some points
want to use the starter/gen so if funtions like it was designed
dont want to give vegas carts $800 bucks for an install kit just to be pissed at how easy it would have ben to make my own.
also hear vegas kit is LOUD!
what do you guys think?
thanks
