Default Help hooking up

I have a 48 volt President, I just Purschased a GPS speedometer that plugs into usb , I do not have a usb charging outlet on the cart and do not have a 12 volt outlet on the dash either. I do have a 48/12 reducer that is running underglow lights but it is always hot. I would like to find something in the dash that is 12 volts to wire the 12 volt outlet to, is there anything 12 volts in the dash or is everything 48 volts, i would really like to wire this to the key switch if possible so it will be hot only when the key is on. Any thoughts.

The key switch is 48V so you can't connect your USB to that. You have to connect it to your reducer output. If it's always hot, you can add a switch to turn the USB off.

I put a 48V coil relay on my keyswitch that powers my reducer so when key is off everything is off.

If your reducer doesn't have a trigger, you can use a relay but the current surge will probably kill the relay fairly quickly. Most reducers give a big spark when you hook up the 48Volts.

I would have to look but I think I am switching output of the reducer with the relay, so it is powered all the time.

That is ok. The reducer won't draw much power with nothing connected to the output.
