Cannot get fuel pump to prime bought new one same thing. Can u check pressure from crankcase line going to fuel pump. Put a boat primer bulb in fuel line and u can pump it up will run for a little bit. I can take line off at tank fill line up with gas and runs good till runs out of gas. Would like to put electric pump on it. Has anybody done this before. Thanks

Re: G1 fuel problems
I put an electric fuel pump with 2 to 3.5 psi rating on my old club car, works fine. Old system kept getting some oil in the fuel pump pulse line during wide open runs, and it would quit pumping.

Re: G1 fuel problems
I’m assuming by G1 you have a Yamaha. This is a club car section so you may get better response in the Yamaha section.
That said, G1 is a 2 stroke engine. In my experiences with any of these 2 stroke golf carts, if the vacuum fuel pump does not work it is because of leaking crankshaft seals. With leaky crank seals there’s no engine case vacuum to create a pulse and make the pump work. I’d fix it correctly not “rig” it and use an electric pump. You’re asking for problems. |
