Re: 01 DS Build (Restore, Lithium, Navitas AC conversion)
Well, I finally had time to get some work done on the golf cart. Had to finish the deck on the house once the weather broke so now that that's done its time to try and get this golf cart going.
Started figuring out where to mount everything and started the wiring. 0516221745b.jpg 0516221746_HDR.jpg 0516221746a.jpg 0517221752a.jpg If anyone sees any issues with layout of components or has any suggestions by all means let me know. Now for a question that hopefully someone will see here and answer to save me some time searching. Is it a issue to put the + bus bar between the battery and the solenoid or does the B+ have to go to the solenoid uninterrupted? |

A little more progress this weekend
Got the battery tray made and installed with 3/4" Styrofoam on the bottom for insulation. 0523221235.jpg 0523221257.jpg 0523221409.jpg Heat pad on the bottom side of the battery for those cold day's deer hunting. 0523221147.jpg All snug in its now home. 0523221449.jpg Once I get it all together and running i plan to make an insulated box cover to keep it warm in the winter. |

This is where I left off for the day. Everything has its place for the most part.
0523221707.jpg Now to wire everything up and hope it all works. |

Little more progress. Started wiring and got all the 2awg done.
0525221708.jpg Then I started on the front suspension and ended up working on my dash. I have black abs plastic ordered to finish it off. This should give me enough flat surface to mount my switches, battery meter, radio, Navitas control box, etc. 0531221524a_HDR.jpg 0531221728_HDR.jpg 0531221745.jpg 0531221745_HDR.jpg |

Re: 01 DS Build (Restore, Lithium, Navitas AC conversion)
Progress was slow this weekend. Waiting on parts sucks. What you can’t see in the photos is I ran the wires to the front for the switch and reverse light (no buzzer don’t want to scare the deer lol) and into the battery compartment for the tow/run and F/R.
I ended up removing the driver side “glove box” or whatever it would be called. My original thought was to leave it there to protect the back of a radio but once I started layout I decided to move the radio to the right side of the steering column. Now the plan is to add a sheet of aluminum to the frame structure to keep tire spray/mud off of the electronics. That is for a future post though. Got the steering rack rebuilt and the lift on. Both front hubs were missing a wheel stud and both were cracked where the missing studs would have been so both hubs are new. The steering rack adjustment was welded to the tie rod end so I had to replace them also. Basically a whole new front end other then the drag link and a-arm bracket which got cleaned up and a new coat of paint. Alignment was harder then I thought it was going to be but I believe I got it. 0605221707a.jpg My pice of ABS plastic showed up today so I got the dash done. Good thing I got 24”x24”. There might have been two scraps before I got to the final product . 0606221525.jpg 0606221601_HDR.jpg Now I’m waiting on parts again. Rocker switches, steering wheel, headlights, all on the way. Maybe next weekend I’ll get to see if she runs (but probably more like 2 weeks). |
