Eve 105aH cells for RXV
I am considering using 16 Eve 105 aH lifepo4 grade A cells for a DIY pack for my 2014 RXV with a stock Curtis controller.
I have reservations about the current capabilities of these cells vs what I have seen posted for short pulse current requirements of the RXV - sometimes in excess of 300 or 400A. I think the Roypow drop in uses these same cells though, so they should be adequate? Anyone here using these cells successfully? |

Re: Eve 105aH cells for RXV
I decided to go with the 150 aH cells offered by Michael over on the DIY Solar forum.
Cost was about the same as the 100 aH EVE cells and these are rated at 3C discharge for 60 secs which should be more than adequate for the RXV. |

Re: Eve 105aH cells for RXV
In reviewing these batteries it looks like you need at least the 180ah cells to get a 3c discharge rate. My cart will pull over 400 amps at times. Is there a more appropriate cell with high discharge rates? Has anyone used these cells or have any working knowledge of their quality and longevity?

Re: Eve 105aH cells for RXV
I believe Eve either owns or is under the same umbrella as Roypow, so it could be a different cell or just designed for stock cart amp draw. There is also a 130 amp Lishen high discharge cell that is 6C and allows 12c for 30 seconds. It is listed in the thread on DIYSolar. The high C cells weigh more, so I don’t know if it is slightly different chemistry or if they have internal strength. The Fortune cells at electric car parts also list 6C I believe and designed for EV
