Default 99 Club Car motor noises ???

Last year, I bought a Nice 1999 Club car. During the very first ride I made with it I noticed a weird noise in the drive train when I release the feeder about half way. That noise sound a bit like marbles loose in a metal housing.

After having change the bearing without much succes in regards to noise elimination, the seller came and installed an other (used) motor. That motor is running good, but it makes a siren or grinding noise when I release the feeder half way . Is that normal ??

We are talking here of a 48Volts electric motor.

Have I fell on a second '' Lemon'' or am I just too picky ???

That siren like sound is about as much (if not more) anoying than the first
(marble rattling) sound .

A loud siren type noise would most likely be caused by a bad bearing. If you say it started after that motor was installed, the end bearing in the motor case is probably no good. It is pressed onto the armature shaft and not easily replaced without specialized tools.

Before the seller puts in another motor...
make sure he replaces the "guide ring" or "bumper" with a NEW one... first!

That should get rid of the "marble" noise!

I had the motor replaced once more , (second time 3rd motor) and now I still hear a '' winding ''noise sometimes, But this is from the gear rotation inside the differential ( I assume ) I dont think its anything major ( Hope not !! )

We all have gears in our rear ends and I hear a lot about lifts and wheels and such.
Your cart is 6 years old, has the gear lube been changed?
