Check to make sure main jet in carburetor is not plugged up. Under the jet there is a tube which it almost impossible to clean without removing. I have never had much luck getting one out. It would then require an Ultrasonic Parts Cleaner to get it clean. I don't have one of those so I just buy a new carburetor |

Re: workhorse st350 coil incoming voltage
Hey Trig. Here is what I found out. It's in the adjustment on this. If I unplug the throttle cable that connects to the carburetor and push the gas pedal fully down and use my hand to give it gas on the carburetor it runs like a kitten perfect no backfire or anything and I get full throttle. But as soon as I hook the cable back up to the carburetor and tried just using the gas pedal it spits and sputters backfires and won't get enough to even pull it. Do you know much about the adjustments on this?1602979217574394327477201675396.jpg

Re: workhorse st350 coil incoming voltage
Too much slack in the cable to the pedal. That is the one with the rubber boot and j hook. Turn the key off and adjust that cable until the linkage just moves after the front pedal clicks.

Re: workhorse st350 coil incoming voltage
What I see here is the governor wound right up and also cable tied. If trig has the details available he can show you, you will be able to reset the governor. What I think may be happening, is when you press the pedal, the carb is opening too far and overfueling the engine. Thats why it runs sweet when throttling by hand. Also, the ignitor will be trying to limit the revs. If you want a bit more speed once you have reset the governor, you can wind in the govenor spring a bit at a time till you feel the limiter kick in, then unwind the nut one or two turns so revs are just below rev limiter setting.

Re: workhorse st350 coil incoming voltage
If you do this and the cable as kgsc suggested, you should be good to go.
