Parking brake return spring?
I have a 1985 electric Club Car and a parking brake return spring broke. I am hearing that this spring was never installed on the club car so I don't know, maybe someone added it over the years? It looks like the 5590 or 5630 return spring from an EZ Go, but I'm not sure enough to identify which one, or maybe it's something completely differend. Wondering if I might get some help identifing what I need to replace it. It has 4 coils that look to be 3/16" diameter. The inside diameter is 1 1/4" the outside about 1 5/8", there is a hook on one end, the other broke off. What am I dealing with here?
Thanks. |

Re: Parking brake return spring?
Are you talking about the hill brake pedal return spring? Check out this link to determine.

The item you pictured is item #2 in the posted diagram. 1010933 - Hill brake torsion spring. If by "brake blocks" you mean the plastic brackets that hold the cross bar then no it does not go there. It goes on the back of the pedal and returns the park brake lever like scotter said. |

Re: Parking brake return spring?
Thanks for the reply, but this is in addition to this spring.
I am getting the feeling that someone may have added this one in addition to the factory spring for some reason. It hasn't affected the operation so I might just forget it. |

Re: Parking brake return spring?
No I have the same broken spring on my 84 ds. I have been working on brake issues and had a broken block on mine, when I replaced it I noticed I had the broken spring also. It is not the one on the pedal but actually on the brake rod under the cart. I did find a part number that looks like it but haven't ordered it yet as I want to make sure it is not the spring on the pedal. The part number I found is 1010933
