Default Hard start

I have an 1986 2 stroke with the 244cc engine have to floor gas pedal and squirt gas in carb to get to start.After driving for 5 minute lose power and wont start.BTW this is my first post.Great forum

Sounds like a fuel pump problem or clogged filter to me.

i agree with EZ, pull the fuel line off the carb only,
step on the gas and see if its pumping.

also check the exhaust, check vcompression check crank seals and check base gasket..........................................

Tried suggestions and still having problems any other suggestions.No air filter system is on it if that will help.Thanks

Check you throttle cable adjustment. You can find the directions for a newer model in the stickies, but the concept is still the same. Is your throttle plate opening all the way?

You need an air filter on there, without that it will lean out unless you messed with the carb.
