Default G1 bench seat build

Hi all I need some help with finishing up a bench seat conversion on my cart. A friend gave me a seat and seatback of unknown make. They have plywood bottoms and appear qiuite old but in pretty good shape. Seat bottom was too tall so I cut a little under two inches of foam off the bottom as well as about three inches in width and reused the cover. I made a new base from plywood and reused the 1/4-20 t nuts and the stock seat mounting holes on the cart body with some spacers to make up for the different depths of the top of the body. I used arm rests I sourced locally from an unknown make cart and cut the mounts off while using angle iron to make new mounts that I screwed to the plywood base. I need advise on the seat back as far as placement up from the seat base. Any thoughts to this? What are your dimensions on seat back height? Right now its just resting on the base.

Default Re: G1 bench seat build

For the rear seat I used the rear seat from a Jeep YJ that folds down that I found on CL. I used the Jeep rear mounts bolted to the bed and made mounts out of angle iron for the front. I welded nuts under the bed so the whole seat can be removed when I need to haul stuff in the bed having to only remove two bolts. Seat belts are from a conversion van that was in the junkyard. I may upgrade these belts in the future and will recover the seats with a mexican blanket. The tailgate will have chains to hold it in place for a foot rest for the kids and i may make a removable foot rest that will go into the two inch reciever hitch.
