Default Alltrax XCT500 Install on 2011 Club Car DS IQ

I just received my Alltrax XCT 500a with 2g cables and solenoid. I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed with everything. Are there any good videos out there that show how this is done on a Club Car DS, or does anyone have pictures you can share of your setup on a Club Car DS?

Also, the stock controller has a waterproof box around it and the Alltrax XCT doesn't fit in there. Do I need to worry about water splashing up on this controller and frying it? Has anyone done any mods to help prevent water damage?

Thanks for the help!

The XCT is water resistant and does not need the cover. You've got a lot of room to play with on the DS. Just mount it in the general area where the other controller was and make sure all your wires will reach and bolt her down.

Draw a lot of picture of how everything is wired. Take a lot of pictures. Label all the wires as you take them loose. If two wires go on a connector tape or tyrap them together. And no you won't remember where that red wire went 3 hours later. :) It's a character builder.

Thanks guys! I think you gave me the confidence I needed. I'm going cable by cable on everything. Taking off the body helped big-time and was super easy to do. So far, so good!

One other thing I forgot to mention. When you disconnect the batteries tape the ends of the cables.

Good call on taking off the body. I did that when I installed mine, makes the job much easier.

Well guys, something is wrong. I have it all connected but I get nothing. No movement when I hit the pedal, no buzzing noise while I'm in reverse, no status light on my Alltrax XCT 500. It's almost like the cuicut is not complete and I don't have the battery pack hooked up. My headlight system and voltage reducer works fine, but nothing past that.

I checked the connections and everything appears to be fine and properly hooked up. Also, when I connect the charger, it doesn't charge.

Any ideas?? (pics attached)

It looks to me like you didn't draw enough pictures. Look a picture #1. Look at the left hand small solenoid post. It appears you have an extra pink wire on the left hand post. It should be on the big post with the wire going to the battery. Double check your drawing before changing. Don't take my word for it.

No Harm - no foul. That would make sense if the wire in question has a 5/16 ring terminal you will have to snip the ring ans spread it over the 3/8th super duty solenoid terminal or best change to a 3/8ths ring terminal.

And to attach it to the solenoid he would need a 3/8 ring terminal.
