Congrats, nice setup.
Fishsticker: I have a question, what are the four orange cable loops on the battery? |

I believe he said the orange cables were lifting straps that he made

Fishsticker, did you happen to take a pic of the BMS cabling before you closed the orange covers?

Re: 48 volt twin motor twin 500 amp controllers on lithium power
Lifting Straps. The 14 module battery is about 120 pounds so it is a handful to lift. I struggled a bit with mine. I did not put lifting straps but I put some aluminum angle at the top to support an aluminum plate for my electronics. I can lift at those angles with gloves on. It weighs about the same as two of my 8V FLA batteries. About 250 pounds lighter than the 6 FLA batteries it replaced.

That is why I'm thinking that when I do mine that I will divide the pack into either a 6 and 8 module pack or 7 and 7. Not that they need to go in and out very often but when they do I don't want to have to get an engine lift, cause at my age I'm not sure I could mess with 120lbs like that anymore.

With that cooler on top like that doesn't it make it really difficult to get a beer?

Re: 48 volt twin motor twin 500 amp controllers on lithium power
You can't reasonably do 7 and 7 because they are wired with each of two modules in parallel. You can do 6 and 8 - I have seen that here. Advantage of one pack is that the modules are all connected with short copper buss bars. Much better than cables. Only way I would split the pack is if there is something preventing the 14 module pack from fitting.
