Mine should go 70+ mph. with the VW transaxle, 1600 dual port engine, and 31 inch tires, but I havent had it that fast yet. The front suspension just wasn't safe before, but i'm in the middle of fixing that now

Too bad you can't stage with the rear tires at the races, you'd have a winner there!!

Hey Ron, Wow Ron I just was going through the forum and ran across this post about a tractor forum. Way back in 1999 I joined that forum and another one called Farmal Cub and they are the 2 forums where I got so much help in restoring my old 1948 Farmal Cub Tractor. Wow that was so nice to read about where they were talking about your Geep I and then I seen all the pics where those guys had made some neat looking golf carts. Ron that really brings back good memories for me my friend. If not for some of them guys just like this forum and all the help I have got from all of you on here well I would of never have got my 48 Cub going or looking good. Just like all the help I have got from you all on here well Ron I would of never have got either one of my G1's going. My dad who is in Heaven now bought the old cub many years ago and it just quit running while he was plowing the field and he couldn't figure out why it stopped so he just let it set there for over 25 years. In 1999 after he had passed I decided to bring it out of the field some how all by myself with no help and pull it down here to my garage and try to get it going. Well after getting it in the garage I couldn't figure it out so I found those tractor forums and joined and those guys went out of their way in helping me get it going just like all of you fellows and gals on here. Back then I had good legs and I really worked hard on restoring it I'll post a before pic of it and a after pic of it when I am finished here. This forum never gets boring Ron I just cant seem to wait until morning or night to read everyones progress on here on what their doing. I also belonged to that Jeep forum many moons ago that you mentioned on here I had a 1949 Willy's panel wagon still wish I had it now. Thanks for reading this long post all my friends.
