Re: Dirty Low Down
I ran cable-operated disc brakes on my other cart,I ended up taking them off and going back to drum brakes. Sand and mud were
absolute pad killers on those style brakes.... But this cart I am building will never ever see either one, I doubt it will leave the pavement.... Oh yeah I called them "Costco brakes" because they "cost o" lot to keep up. Actually it was poor misspelling on ausco.... Hangs head in shame, looks down at the ground, kicks rocks, shakes head sideways....... |

Re: Dirty Low Down
So in between all the things I am doing I did get a chance to crack open the engine yesterday, I removed the governor and low oil sensor,
I thought that I would post a couple of pictures of this for those who haven't seen one cracked open. BEFORE AFTER |

Re: Dirty Low Down
So while digging in my cluttered garage, I found an engine cradle, that I broke a couple of years back Jumping my other cart!!
Took it to my friend and he welded it together for me, he says it won't break and where he welded it LOL.... Now a couple of coats of rattle can aluminum, and we'll have my engine cradle back. |

Re: Dirty Low Down
Thinks. I need to do some spring cleaning in the fall.
Found all kinds of good like stuff last night, Big score! I found a Comet 780 drive clutch, heavy duty driven clutch, and a fat belt!! Now for the bad news, The Driven clutch nightmare continues.... Springbok and Smallblock450SL and others know exactly what I'm talking about. Hangs my head and looks down at the ground again... Trailer park girls go round and around, round and around |

Re: Dirty Low Down
Calling it a day, driven clutch really whipped my butt....
Just once I would love to run across a clutch that just popped off ,that you didn't have to break, bust, chip grind or burn to get it off. Just once...... Not one nick on the shaft, but a new key way is in order .... |
