Looking for more torque in sand.
Just back from the Beach - staying there the whole month. Waiting to see what that storm may do in the gulf.
So I found the batteries to last pretty decent out on the beach with loose sand. My problem is that I want a little umph in the sand. My wife got stuck twice(and ran over me once - I learned). The gassers(the majority of the carts) seem to have no problems in the deeper sun. So I am starting to think through my upgrades sooner than later. First is my cables - I am leaning towards a 500 amp controller a little later but for now - I am leaning towards the 2 gauge cables - good choice? And what to expect just from doing this? I am really trying to wait til August-ish for the controller and solenoid. Gotta get my spending money built back up. I have more questions but will start another thread for that. Thanks. |

500 amp will give you more torque. And the 2 ga will let it flow much easier, will be much more noticeable if your starting with 6ga.

The 700amp controller cost about $50 more. If you upgrade again (motor, tires...) in the future you'll already have the controller.
Just my opinion. |
