Precedent OnBoard charger
Have a CC precedent. At one time it had an onboard charger in the bagwell hardwired to the OBC? I have no idea what type charger it was. Now the customer has replaced it with a Links CC style charger and the cart will not operate when the charger is connected on the DC side. I understand that is the way it is supposed to work, my question is there any way to connect the charger and make the cart work. I tried looking at the programming via a curtis handheld but didnt see anything to be changed.

Re: Precedent OnBoard charger
The On-board Powerdrive chargers had an AC relay in the charger that opened the sense wire so the OBC would let the cart run.
Basically one of these: https://www.alliedelec.com/product/a...20af/70132401/ You can find them a lot of places online. This goes in parallel to the AC input power to the charger. The sense lead wire in the charger goes to the switched side of the relay. When AC power is applied it closes the contacts and gives the sense lead continuity back to the OBC. Or you can try to talk him into installing a Summit II charger that has built in on-board/off-board switching. |

Re: Precedent OnBoard charger
OK Got it. I did look in my service manual at the original onboard charger and it only shows 1 relay just like any other charger I have seen. Are these just wired different? I do understand what you are saying just trying to be sure I do it correctly.

Re: Precedent OnBoard charger
I was wrong, It's not a relay, its a PCM board. Shown (not really) here:
https://golfcartpartsdirect.com/Category/425 Number 6 The board has a relay on it that does the interrupt on the AC side. You can use the relay I linked above for a cheaper option. |

Yep seen that one too. Trying to find a diagram to get it done.

Re: Precedent OnBoard charger
I have a diagram for the control board wiring.
Do you need a diagram for that, or do you want to just put the relay in it? |

Re: Precedent OnBoard charger
Got my hands on the old charger. A little different but I can simply move it to the new charger.
