Default won't start in forward only in reverse

This is a real head scratcher. My EZGO gas won't start in forward. It just sits there chugging and chugging, once I put it in reverse it starts right up, but I have to go in reverse for a bit before it will start in forward.
Sometimes even after being driven for a while I still have to do this. Its getting kinda annoying, anyone have any ideas ?

If it's a 2 stroke, the common problem with that symptom is crankshaft seals. As for the answer above mine, no. Just no.

Clearly everybody knows if half the piston is melted then the engine gets confused and it makes the left wheel will spin forward and the right wheel spins backwards so you only can go in circles.

(Not a real answer for the OP)

You should go somewhere else with your BS thoughtless responses. Stick with Facebook it’s full of morons like you

I don't know why it happened but he told me if he put in revers it ran but if he put it in forwards it did not run and there was a big scorch in one side of the piston

No it didn’t. A melted piston isn’t gonna run. Forward or reverse. Melted piston = no compression and no run. And likely a destroyed cylinder. If you’re going to respond you should try factual information not just spouting off stuff that has no basis whatsoever. It makes about as much sense as my BS response above.

I agree crank seals but I think I said that already possibly could be ignition timing as well. You gotta pull the flywheel to replace the crank seal anyway, and that always seems to be the bad one. May as well check/set the timing while you’re there anyway. 2 birds one stone.

Sorry probably a dumbass question but why would a crank seal let it start in reverse but not in forward, but then it will go in forward an run fine ?
