Ok I figured it out. I cleaned out the carb and made sure the air filter system was good. But after doing so I got it to bog down in the barn and noticed the smoke was black. As soon as I saw that I knew it had too much fuel. And then knew the fuel pump was the problem. I had bought this used and somebody had thrown on a electric fuel pump and after quickly researching it I found that they apply too much pressure and flood the engine. So I quickly swapped it with the one on my running cart and bam problem solved. Wish I would have seen the black smoke earlier but it's been rather cloudy and rainy lately until today when it was nice and sunny. Either way I'm good to go. Thanks for the help!
Lesson learned: Electric fuel pumps are counter productive on golf cart engines. |
