Carryall 252 cuts out under load
I have a 2006/7 Carryall 252 that I just replaced all 8 batteries with new US145s, and fully charged them. Unfortunately, the cart cuts out under load and will not get up to full speed. It has kinda the same feel as when you’ve run your batteries to the bitter end of a charge. What should I be testing/trouble shooting? Thanks!

Re: Carryall 252 cuts out under load
Check all your connections are clean and tight. Check individual battery voltages 12 hours after a full charge. After you get these results it may be worth doing a full pack load test. Just confirm you have the batteries connected in the correct order too.

Re: Carryall 252 cuts out under load
I feel good about my connections (re-checked them) and order. I jacked up the back end, and it still doesn't spin too fast (seems like it's only getting partial power), but it doesn't cut out. Seems like the cutting out has something to do with it being under a load.

Have you load tested the batteries? Also check your vglide.

Re: Carryall 252 cuts out under load
Thanks! I lifted the back end off the ground and tested voltage across the pack when I pressed the accelerator. There was very little voltage drop. The cart did not cut out at all with the wheels off the ground, but it still seemed underpowered. What is the vglide and how do I test it?

Re: Carryall 252 cuts out under load
V-glide is the older style throttle device which, Your cart does not have. You should have an MCOR or MCOR2.
What is the total pack voltage at the solenoid? Should be approx 50v. If it's below that you have a connection problem, battery connected backwards, or faulty cable. |

Re: Carryall 252 cuts out under load
You can’t load test a cart with the wheels off the ground. There’s no load like that!
Drive the cart, preferably up a hill if you’ve got one. That will give you better readings. |

Re: Carryall 252 cuts out under load
Thanks for all the suggestions. A few questions I feel stupid to ask, but I have to ask: How do I test the pack voltage at the solenoid? As far as testing the pack while driving, how do y'all typically do that? Get someone else to drive, and you lean over the back? My 8 6V batteries are really spread out, so if there's a better/easier place to test, that would be great! Thanks again for all the feedback and ideas!
